Georg Hegel once said, "To know your boundary is also to be aware of what it bounds and as such what lies beyond it."     I am a sculptor who works with the human form. It is something that I identify with, and something that surrounds us everyday.

In this work, the models body is first wrapped in a layer of plastic. Then plastic tape is added in layers mapping the physical features and binding the individual. The body is then released from the form and what lingers is the light transparent remains of the process. Each person brings certain aspects of Individuality to the process. Even though through this process the form looses a lot of the original individuality, the work still holds many things true in shape, size, and volume.
As humans, we put limitations on ourselves, those limitations bind us. Consistently we want to know what is beyond those binds and how to break them. In other words, we create our own boundaries, defining what lies within and what waits for us outside. The only way to truly know is for us to break through our own bonds, and discover our potential for ourselves.
