Inspiration is nothing without resources.

Its sad, everyday new ideas, alterations of old ideas, new muses around every corner and yet not a dime to spend on anything. the few things that i have been working on haven't really gotten me anywhere, a long ways from finishing, no money or time to devote. Things at work have picked up and i just dont have anything to show from it. URG!

With that being said i do have one thing completed, Mjölnir. Its a replica of thor's hammer. one goal that i have is to build replicas of major artifacts from the characters that i grew up with.

Another idea that i have is a kinetic rolling ball sculpture. No sure what i am talking about? here is a great site that shows you what i mean: http://www.rollingballsculpture.com/ Takes time, work and a little cash. its just a lot of bending and welding metal.

One thing that i will hopefully be starting the next couple days is comic illustrations, i have always wanted to do them, and no better time than now. and its perfect, takes little over head cash.

and for the last thing that i am going to talk about tonight, a short time ago i started work on a miniature build of Barad-dûr. It is roughly 5' tall meant to be more decorative, but since i started it, things have changed, and now its a work in progress toward a movie grade miniature.

Like i said "new muses around every corner and yet not a dime to spend on anything". that can only last so long... right?

I have notebooks of ideas that i want to work on eventually, but one that keeps coming back to me. Thanks to www.tk560.com i have plans for a very good vacuum former. This is more of a tool than an actual art piece, but to do most of the stuff that i want to make could be done with this one tool. Plus Halloween is a great time of the year for me,  friends want costumes, i usually work on theater shows, and people want props. With this machine i could make all of those. For this project I am looking at spending around $250, and several weekends of work. Also the skills needed to complete this include carpentry, Electronic Wiring, and Welding. The welding will have to wait, the other two i should be able to do. Alternatively i could change the metal tubes with a hard wood that will not warp. The welded portion is to hold the plastic stable while it is moved from the heat to the vacuum.

This project is at the top of my list, so be looking forward to more from Master Effects.

I previously took some time off from creating, and focused on finding a job, the security of this job will allow me to work on more projects. Hopefully some new ideas to come soon.

A break from mediocrity.

After graduation i have been trying to get a job to sustain my artistic endeavors, but while i am doing that i have a few new ideas to work on.

Idea Number One: Inflatable sculptures
Flying or just filled with air?

Idea Number Two: MP3 Sound Effects Box
Bring in da noise, Bring in da funk.

Keep watching for these ideas and more.

OK, we are six days away from the opening of the show, and i am most of the way done. Three pieces are up, and i need to put up at least three more. tonight i am going to try to get two up, how i don't know, but two will go up. Photos soon to follow, when the show is fully up, i will post it.

My artist statement is coming along, but i feel i cant do much more till i have the whole thing up.
